Our waste heat utilisation / heat recovery systems can be adapted to almost any process, specially adapted to the customer's application.

Waste heat recovery & heat recovery

The waste heat recovery system is a heat/energy recovery system using a heat exchanger system to extract the heat energy stored in the exhaust air or flue gas and transfer it to other media (air, water, thermal oil, steam) for further use.

The heat recovery system is a heat/energy recovery system using heat exchangers to extract the heat energy stored in the exhaust air or flue gas and return it to the same energy saving process (raw gas and exhaust air preheating).

The use of a waste heat utilisation / heat recovery system offers a very high savings potential with regard to the energy costs to be used compared to a separate generation of process heat.

Our waste heat utilisation / heat recovery systems can be adapted to almost any process, they are specially adapted to the customer's application and can also be subsequently adapted or extended to other processes. The waste heat utilisation / heat recovery plants can be specially designed and adapted to the installation site, whereby a cost-effective and effective waste heat utilisation / heat recovery can be realised even in cramped and minimal space conditions. Due to the high efficiency and the optimal process adaptation of our waste heat utilisation / heat recovery plants, even the shortest amortisation phases can be realised.

Possible areas of application of a waste heat recovery system

  • Hot water generation for building heating or heating support
  • Warm/hot water production for use in production/manufacturing processes
  • Hot water generation for further use in electricity production (Organic Rankine Cycle - ORC)
  • Steam generation for use in production/manufacturing processes
  • Steam generation for further use in power generation (steam turbine)
  • Thermal oil production as process heat in production/manufacturing processes
  • Thermal oil production for further use in electricity production (Organic Rankine Cycle - ORC)
  • Thermal oil production for further use in drying processes

Possible installation areas of a waste heat recovery system

  • Waste heat from industrial processes - e.g:
    • Flue gas and exhaust air cleaning
    • Steel production and processing
    • Glass works, porcelain works and brick industry
    • Ceramics industry
    • Industry for technical ceramics
    • Chemical industry
    • Building materials industry and cement works
    • Production exhaust air
    • Drying
  • Stationary combustion engines and gas turbines (engine waste heat or waste heat in exhaust gases)
  • Biogas and biomass power plants

Waste heat utilisation even under the most unfavourable operating conditions

We also offer you the installation of a waste heat recovery system for processes with high dust loads or harmful exhaust gas components. For this purpose, we offer various expansion options for a waste heat recovery system - among others:

  • Automatic cleaning of the heat exchanger tube bundle by means of shot cleaning
  • Automatic cleaning of the heat exchanger tube bundle by external flushing with water or cleaning solution
  • Automatic cleaning of the heat exchanger tube bundle by means of sound cleaning (Sonic Cleaning)
  • Various coatings on the surface of the heat exchanger tube bundle to reduce or easily remove any buildup
  • Design of the heat exchanger tube bundle in a wide variety of materials - matched to the specific application
  • Design of waste heat utilisation with two or more internal media circuits of different temperature levels to avoid condensation of individual harmful exhaust air/flue gas components
