Thermal exhaust gas purification in smallest format
The company Birk supplies a thermal afterburner / thermal exhaust gas purification to a renowned customer in the field of chemical plant project planning. The afterburning/flue gas cleaning system was designed for the very low raw gas mass flow of only 2 kg/h from the flue gases of upstream process plants.
For an optimal chemical-thermal conversion of the harmful gases in the combustion or reaction chamber, it is designed and constructed for increased continuous operating temperatures of up to 900°C. The combustion or reaction chamber is equipped with a temperature control system. The plant has a special design of the raw gas inlet in order to meet the limited space conditions of the customer at the installation site. In order to meet the high customer requirements for operational safety and plant availability, numerous plant components are designed according to the high standards of the SIL classification, which guarantees a high level of protection for the employees as well as a high level of process stability.
In order to meet the equally high requirements for noise emission reduction, the afterburning system is equipped with a comprehensive package of measures for noise reduction. These measures guarantee a total noise emission of less than 62 dB at the thermal afterburning system. The plant is equipped with full-surface protection against accidental contact in the entire area of the combustion chamber jacket to protect against burns. This is made of perforated sheet metal and, in addition to its protective function, gives the system an elegant appearance.
The entire scope of supply also included the raw gas supply/exhaust with bypass function, as well as the clean gas discharge into the on-site industrial chimney system. The system is designed as a compact version, whereby it is delivered ready for operation, i.e. pre-installed electrically and mechanically. The entire control, regulation and monitoring functions of the plant are performed by an Insevis control system, which is equipped with a user-friendly visualisation system.
