Thermal afterburning on an industrial furnace
The company Birk supplies a thermal afterburning plant / thermal exhaust air purification plant in customer-specific special design to a long-standing customer from the high temperature industrial furnace construction.
The post-combustion plant / exhaust air purification plant was designed for a raw gas mass flow of 50 kg/h from the exhaust gases of a high-temperature furnace. The plant has a special design of the raw gas inlet as well as a customer-specific arrangement of the other plant components in order to meet the limited space conditions at the installation site.
The combustion plant is adapted to the local conditions at the customer's installation site, which do not permit operation of the plant with a gaseous fuel medium, such as natural gas or propane, and has therefore been designed for operation with EL heating oil. The scope of delivery of the installed firing system also includes the fuel oil production in order to be able to operate the TNV system independently of the location of the fuel oil storage tanks.
The plant was equipped with a multi-stage industrial fuel oil burner to enable plant operation comparable to modulating natural gas firing. The plant has a full-surface contact protection in the entire area of the combustion chamber jacket. This is made of perforated sheet metal and, in addition to its protective function, gives the plant an elegant appearance. The plant is designed as a compact version, whereby it is delivered ready for operation, i.e. electrically and mechanically pre-installed. The entire control, regulation and monitoring functions of the system are performed by our in-house control system based on Siemens S7, which is equipped with a user-friendly visualisation with touch function.
