Exhaust air cleaning for Ex-Zone2
The company Birk delivers a turnkey thermal afterburner / thermal flue gas cleaning system to a chemical company. The afterburner/flue gas cleaning system was designed for a raw gas mass flow of 16 kg/h from the flue gases of upstream pilot plants.
The exhaust air purification system was designed and equipped in such a way that it meets the on-site requirements for operation and installation in an Ex zone2 classified environment. In addition, the plant has a special design and construction of all plant components in order to satisfy the limited space conditions of the customer at the installation site.
In order to meet the equally high customer requirements for operational safety and plant availability, numerous plant components are designed in accordance with the high standards of the SIL classification, which guarantees a high level of protection for the employees as well as a high level of process stability. In order to meet the equally high noise emission reduction requirements, the afterburning system is equipped with a comprehensive noise reduction package, which also includes the 2nd generation low-dB sound insulation cabins on the fans.
These measures guarantee a total noise emission at the thermal afterburning system of less than 62 dB. The system is equipped with full-surface contact protection in the entire area of the combustion chamber jacket. This is made of perforated sheet metal and, in addition to its protective function, gives the system an elegant appearance. The system is designed as a compact version, which means that it is delivered ready for operation, i.e. electrically and mechanically pre-installed. The entire control, regulation and monitoring functions of the plant are performed by a Siemens S7-based control system, which is equipped with a user-friendly visualisation with touch function.
